March 6-8 Next Gen made it’s first official trip to Davao, with the purpose to actively campaign for BBM-Sara which included touching base with the Davao chapter of Next Gen, and for Vincent Marcos, also known as Vinny, the youngest son of BBM, to campaign for BBM-Sara in Mindanao.
Next Gen attended a dinner hosted by a member of the Davao chapter. The attendees of the dinner included Councilor April Dayap, whom we are grateful to have met that evening as she organized the event the following day for International Women’s Day celebration of Barangay Indangan and was organized by their Barangay Women President-Ms. Shing Albaran. Vinny, spoke at the event and graciously took photos with each Barangay.
After the women’s day celebration, our group visited Balay Pasilungan, an all-boys shelter foundation
The next stop was a courtesy call to Vice-Mayor Sebastian Duterte’s office at the Sangguniang Building. Vinny, together with Next Gen sat down with the Vice-Mayor, who is currently the acting mayor of Davao City in lieu of his sister and running-m;’.ate of our principal BBM, Sara Duterte. Vice-Mayor Duterte, fondly called by the nation as Baste, the youngest son of President Rodrigo Duterte had the first introduction to Vinny, also the youngest son in his respective family . It was a pleasant mano a mano, or better yet, bunso to bunso. The meeting took about one hour, after which the team then proceeded to the last engagement of the trip, a meet and greet with Congressman Sandro Gonzalez of the Marino Partylist.

We would like to thank the Next Gen team and donors for providing and organizing the plane that took us safely to Davao and back to Manila. We are deeply grateful to our Davao hosts for assuring the teams security during all our activities and movement around the beautiful southern province.
