After Typhoon Odette hit on December 19, 2021 Next For BBM quickly organized a disaster relief arm of the group, called Next Gen Hope. Many of our members have close ties and a network in Siargao and Negros and felt called to serve those affected by this storm. Next Gen focused on the provision, consolidation and distribution of relief goods, communication, power and rebuilding.
Next Gen Hope Siargao relief efforts include:
- Satellite Communications and technicians
- Battery stations for community charging
- Water filtration system
- On ground military and volunteers
- Chartered flights to act immediately and make sure goods arrive both in Siargao and Negros
- Cash transport
- 500 sheets of roofing donated by SOP Steel
- 500 ++ sacks of rice
- Various groceries and relief goods
- Shipping / coordination for goods to be sent
